DONNA MASHADI, STUDENT CANTOR
Student
Cantor Donna Mashadi started at TAI in June, 2008. She is bright, bubbly
and enthusiastic, with a magnificent voice and the kind of "can-do"
attitude that fits right in with TAI’s philosophy. She is a third year
student at HUC’s School of Sacred Music, graduating in 2010. Her home is
Southern California
and she was in the pre-cantorial program at HUC-JIR in
Los Angeles
prior to coming to New York. She was graduated from
California State University at
Long Beach in 2002 with a BA in
Vocal Performance
and Music Education. She has a
teaching credential
and was a
student teacher
in musical theater and the arts in
California. As a cantorial intern at
Temple Shaaray Tefila in Manhattan her duties were similar to what she
will be doing at TAI. She has also had choral experience with the
Los Angeles Symphony. Not only does
Donna have a gracious personality on the bima, she is especially well
trained to work with the Hebrew School in preparing the Bar/Bat Mitzvah
students.
