"WHAT DOES SCIENCE SAY ABOUT PRAYER?" with Dr. Frank Fincham and Rabbi Dan Geffen, moderated by Judy Spencer.

A clinical psychologist, Frank Fincham, will discuss with Rabbi Geffen whether science can contribute anything to understanding prayer.

Dr. Frank Fincham’s research has found that prayer for a romantic partner has numerous effects.

These include changes in cardiovascular functioning, decreased alcohol intake, lower rates of extradyadic sexual activity, and increased forgiveness.

Dr. Fincham was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University, after which he trained at Stony Brook University. Before joining the University of Illinois, where he ultimately became a professor and the Director of Clinical Training. He is currently an Eminent Scholar and Director of the Family Institute at Florida State University.

His research has been widely recognized by numerous awards, and Scholar GPS recently placed him in the top 0.05% of all scholars worldwide.
